Department of Agricultural Engineering
INTRODUCTION
The Department of Agricultural Engineering is one of five academic departments within the School of Agriculture of the University of Cape Coast. It played unique role in the training of the Agriculture students in the engineering principles and technology to provide solutions to problems in agriculture.
The Department of Agricultural Engineering is hopeful that it will be the nucleus for the development of a programme for the award of an engineering degree and/or related programmes.
Undergraduate Level
Land Surveying
Farm power and Machinery
Elementary soil and water Conservation Engineering
Agricultural Material Handling, Processing and Storage
Farm Structures and Environmental Control
Graduate Level
In addition to the specialized course relevant to the three areas of specialization;
· Post-harvest Technology
· Irrigation Technology
· Mechanisation Technology
The Department exposes its non-engineering graduate students to the following general courses:
· Mathematics
· Experimental and Applied Instrumentation
· Computer Science
· Strength of Materials
· Systems Analysis (Introductory)The Post-harvest Technology Programme has so far been the subscribed course in the Department.
